Ludwig Münchmeyer

Ludwig Münchmeyer (2 June 1885-24 July 1947) was a German evangelical pastor and Nazi propagandist.

Biography[]

Ludwig Münchmeyer was born in Hoel, Hanover, German Empire in 1885. He came from a family of evangelical pastors dating back to the late 17th century, and he became a pastor in 1911 and a military chaplain in the Imperial German Army in 1915. After the war, he became involved in the nationalist DNVP and then the NSDAP, founding an "anti-Semitic spa" on the island of Borkum. Allegations of loose morals and scandalous misconduct led to Münchmeyer being defrocked, and he was interned by the Allies from 1945 to 1947 and remained a Nazi until his death in 1947.
