Luco

Luco (died 9 AD) was a Cherusci Germanic warrior during the 1st century AD. He joined Folkwin Wolfspeer's band of fugitives after the Roman Army began a manhunt for Folkwin for stealing an imperial standard, but he refused to follow Folkwin into the cursed "Dark Land" of the Black Forest, as he heard rumors that those who entered the forest never returned alive. Luco was captured by the Romans while attempting to return home, and Arminius persuaded him to give away his friends' location before the Roman centurion Metellus stabbed him in the back, justifying his cold-blooded murder by quoting Julius Caesar: "I love treason, but hate a traitor."
