Lucio Marcano in his younger years

Lucio Marcano was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to an Italian-American family in 1918, the son of Carillo crime family soldier Valerio Marcano and his wife Petrina. He and his two older brothers, Sal and Lou, began working as robbers and errand boys for Don Giuseppe Carillo, though Lucio was the least sharp and cunning of the brothers. The brothers and Carillo were eventually sent to prison for robbery, and they gained the boss' favor after Sal saved him from an assassination attempt.

However, when Valerio was killed by Carillo due to his growing debts with, unbeknownst to Lucio and Lou, the blessing of Sal himself, he used this as a pretext to go to war with Carillo, and the brothers gunned Carillo and 18 of his men down at an Italian restaurant on 1 November 1934. Afterward, they took control of organized crime in the city, and Lucio was put in charge of the prostitution rackets in the high-class Lakeview neighborhood. There, he met young socialite Olivia Grady in 1947, and married her despite the disapproval of her parents. She was attracted to his exciting and tantalizing lifestyle, filled with luxury cars, well-tailored clothes and rampant drug use, and Lucio convinced Sal to cut her in on the business.

Despite her love for him, the power and influence of her position got to Olivia's head, and in 1962, she had Lucio's underlings slice his throat and kill him, with it being widely believed that he was murdered by one of his prostitutes. Olivia then took over the Lakeview rackets, though Lucio's death would ultimately be avenged by Sal when he got his son Giorgi to kill Olivia in 1968 in the same manner in which she had his brother killed after she had outlived her usefulness.
