Biography[]

Lu Kang was born in Wu Commandery in 126, and he distinguished himself while serving as an imperial official in Gaocheng County, eliminating criminal activity in the county. In 178, he became administrator of Wuling Commandery, and he remained loyal to the Emeperor even during the anarchy of the 180s and 190s, criticizing the power of the Ten Eunuchs. In 193, after Lu Kang branded Yuan Shu as a traitor and refused to send grain to him during his campaign in Xu Province, Yuan Shu sent his general Sun Ce to attack Lu Kang at Lujiang.
