Biography[]
Louise de La Valliere was born in Tours, France on 6 August 1644, the daughter of a French Army officer. She became the maid of honor to Princess Henrietta of England, the wife of Philippe I, Duke of Orleans, and she entered into a relationship with the Duke's brother, King Louis XIV of France, in 1661. Louise was an innocent, religious-minded girl, and she gave birth to several children. After the Madame de Montespan became the King's mistress, La Valliere lost her power, and she entered a convent in 1674. She died in Paris in 1710 at the age of 65.
