Los Viagras was a Mexican drug cartel which was founded in Michoacan in December 2014 by Nicolas Sierra Santana. It was founded as a chapter of the Autodefensas, and its name came from a joke targeted at one of its founders, who was said to have used too much gel in order to spike his hair. When the Mexican government ordered the disarming of the Autodefensas in December 2014, Los Viagras took over the town of Apatzingan, but, on 6 January 2015, the Mexican Federal Police evicted the Los Viagras with a cost of 10 civilians dead and 21 wounded. Los Viagras eventually expanded into the drug trade, transporting meth and becoming rivals with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. In February 2020, nine people (including three children) were killed in an attack by the CJNG on an arcade in Los Viagras-controlled turf. By June 2020, however, the CJNG had been unsuccessful in taking over Los Viagras turf for the past three years. Los Viagras allied with the Independent Cartel of Acapulco and the Beltran Leyva Cartel against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, La Barredora, and La Familia Michoacana.
