The Los Varrios Aztecas is a major Mexican-American street gang in Los Angeles, founded in the early 1980s in Lennox, California. The gang was proud of its chicano culture, embracing lowriding competitions as a common pastime. Los Varrios Aztecas was one of the smallest gangs in the city and was not regarded as a threat, but its members were heavily-armed, and the gang fought against the Vagos for several years. In 1992, the LVA made a truce with the Grove Street Families after GSF leader Sweet Johnson's sister Kendl Johnson began dating VLA leader Cesar Vialpando, and the LVA and GSF allied against the Vagos. The LVA were nearly wiped out by the Vagos offensive in early 1992, but they returned when Carl Johnson and Vialpando returned to LA to fight the Vagos and Ballas. The LVA retook its lost turf, and the GSF took over all of the Vagos and Ballas' turfs in the rest of 1992. In 2013, the LVA was forced to move into the desert of Blaine County due to the Vagos taking over most of their turf; they were left with just a small amount of territory in northern Florence, Los Angeles. The gang ran methamphetamines and drugs from rural Blaine County, making them rivals with Trevor Philips Enterprises and The Lost MC; they also developed a rivalry with the Marabunta Grande gang.
