
Lorna Fitzsimons (born 6 August 1967) was the Labour MP for Rochdale from 1 May 1997 to 5 May 2005, succeeding Liz Lynne and preceding Paul Rowen.
Biography[]
Lorna Fitzsimons was born in Littleborough, Lancashire, England in 1967, and she served as President of the National Union of Students from 1992 to 1994, succeeding fellow Labour MP Stephen Twigg. She was elected as the Labour MP for Rochdale in 1997, and, at the age of 30, she was one of the youngest MPs elected that year. In 2005, she was defeated by Lib Dem candidate Paul Rowen, and she went on to work in the communications industry.
