Loren P. Waldo

Loren Pinckney Waldo (2 February 1802-8 September 1881) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-CN 1) from 4 March 1849 to 3 March 1851, succeeding James Dixon and preceding Charles Chapman.

Biography[]

Loren Pinckney Waldo was born in Canterbury, Connecticut in 1802, and he moved to Tolland in 1823 and became a lawyer in Somers in 1825. He served as postmaster of Somers from 1829 to 1830, in the state house from 1832 to 1834 and in 1839, as state's attorney from 1837 to 1849, in the state house from 1847 to 1848, in the US House of Representatives from 1849 to 1851, as a pensions commissioner from 1853 to 1856, as a superior court judge from 1856 to 1863, and as a lawyer in Hartford until his death in 1881.
