
Lord Mayor Leone of Veglia (13 November 771-) was the son of Doge Giovanni of Venice and Aikaterine Amalfinos.
Biography[]
Leone Galbaio was born on 13 November 771 to Doge Giovanni of Venice and Aikaterine Amalfinos from the House of Galbaios, and he was from a family of Catholic Italians. He was betrothed to marry the much-older Adosinda d'Asturias in order to form an alliance with the Kingdom of Asturias, and in 787 they finalized their marriage when Leone came of age. On 17 April 794, he was named one of the state inquisitors of the Republic of Venice. On 15 January 795 his father gave him the city of Veglia after taking it from the High Chiefdom of Croatia.
