Lord Mayor Kaisarios of Krizevci (751-27 November 797) was the son of Doge Leon of Amalfi.
Biography[]
Kaisarios Amalfinos was born to the House of Amalfinos, a dynasty of Catholic Greeks that were one of the patrician families of the Republic of Amalfi in southern Italy. He was the brother of Patriarch Timoleon of Amalfinos and Aikaterine Amalfinos, the latter of whom was the Dogaressa of the Republic of Venice. Kaisarios, who was unlikely to gain any titles in Amalfi, decided to go to the court of Doge Giovanni of Venice with his wife Iouliana Amalfinos and their daughter on 27 February 785. He was appointed as a commander and one of the three state inquisitors, and he reunited with his sister. On 13 October 797 he was granted the city of Krizevci by Giovanni, but on 27 November 797 he was assassinated on the orders of his sister-in-law Pulcheria Amalfinos.
