JMA

Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar (JMA), also called the Muhajireen Brigade, was an al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadist group formed in the summer of 2012 during the Syrian Civil War. With around 750 fighters, most of its fighters were Arabs that had fought with al-Qaeda previously, and the Muhajireen Brigade was mostly non-Syrian, with the majority of its fighters coming from Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Russia. Abu Omar al-Shishani was the original leader before defecting to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and the group eventually became hostile towards ISIS. On 23 September 2015, the JMA pledged allegiance to the al-Nusra Front.
