Liu Shan (207-271) was Liu Bei's older son and the second emperor of Shu. As an infant, he was left behind at Changban, but was rescued by Zhao Yun. On his deathbed, Liu Bei instructed Zhuge Liang to seize power if his son proved to be an ineffective leader, but Zhuge Liang served faithfully under Liu Shan until the very end. When Wei eventually threatened Shu's borders, Liu Shan immediately surrendered, and brought about the end of the Shu Dynasty.
