Liu Dai

Liu Dai (147-?) was the Imperial Protector of Yanzhou and the brother of Liu Yong. He was among the nobles who took part in the Battle of Hu Lao Gate in 190 AD, and a year later, he killed Qiao Mao and took over his army. Liu Dai eventually submitted to the rule of Cao Cao, and, along with Wang Zhong, he was sent to attack Liu Bei at Xuzhou in 199 AD. He was captured by Zhang Fei, treated well, and then released, and Cao Cao had them put to death. However, Kong Rong convinced him to spare them, and they were deprived of rank and status.
