Lithuanians are a Baltic ethnic group native to Lithuania, with 3,700,000 Lithuanians living across the world (2,561,300 in Lithuania and 652,790 in the United States, the two largest concentrations). Lithuanians were once Romuva pagans, but they were converted to Catholicism by Poland and the Teutonic Order during the late Middle Ages. Today, most Lithuanians are Catholic, while sizeable Lithuanian Jewish populations exist overseas.
