Linda McMahon

Linda McMahon (born 4 October 1948) was Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 14 February 2017, succeeding Maria Contreras-Sweet.

Biography[]

Linda Marie Edwards was born on 4 October 1948 in New Bern, North Carolina, and she became involved in the World Wide Wrestling Foundation after marrying her husband Vince McMahon. In 1993, she became the president of Titan Sports, Inc., a company that she founded alongside her husband; in 1997, she became its CEO. McMahon helped World Wrestling Entertainment into becoming a huge media success, and McMahon and her husband became very wealthy. In 2009, she left the WWE to enter politics as a US Republican Party politician in Connecticut, being defeated by Richard Blumenthal (D) during the election. On 7 December 2016, Donald Trump nominated her to be the new Administrator of Small Business Administration. She took office on 14 February 217, being confirmed with 81 votes to 19.
