Liang Liao

Liang Liao was a Chinese dynasty which existed in Central Asia from 936. It was founded by Liang Yong as the result of a Han revolt against the Khitans, and Liang Yong devoted his reign to expanding his kingdom at the expense of the Turkic peoples of present-day Xinjiang, Kazakhstan, and the other former Soviet republics of Central Asia. He crushed a large-scale uprising against his rule before dying of his wounds in 943, upon which his kingdom was divided between his sons Liang Yan and Liang Jing. After a four-year civil war, Liang Jing reunified the kingdom by force, and he then oversaw Liang Liao's expansion into Central Asia at the expense of Qocho and the minor Turkic kingdoms, while also crushing Tengri revolts and noble uprisings.
