The Lexovii were a Celtic people who lived west of the mouth of the Seine in France. In 56 BC, during the Gallic Wars, the Roman general Julius Caesar sent Quintus Titurius Sabinus against the Lexovii and other allies of the Veneti, and the Gallic confederates were defeated by Sabinus and compelled to surrender. In 52 BC, 3,000 Lexovii took part in Vercingetorix's rising against Caesar, but they were crushed. The city of Lisieux is named for the Lexovii.
