
Lewis Maxwell (17 April 1790-13 February 1862) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-VA 21) from 4 March 1827 to 3 March 1833, succeeding William Smith and preceding Edgar C. Wilson. Born in Chester County, Pennsylvania, he was raised in Weston, West Virginia. He practiced law before serving in the state house from 1821 to 1824 and in Congress from 1827 to 1833.
