Lethos the Cerberus

Lethos the Cerberus (died 428 BC) was a Greek mercenary who was active during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography[]

Lethos was a prison guard in Athens before he took up the mercenary calling. No one dared run when he was on duty. There was a feral look in his eyes, as if nothing could escape him. The other guards and the prisoners alike took to calling him the Cerberus, a name he took with him when he left.

In 428 BC, Lethos was hired to hunt down and kill the rival mercenary Kassandra, tracking her down to Fort Koroibos in Elis during the Olympic Games. However, Kassandra shot him in the face with a poison arrow after a brief fight, and Lethos was killed instantly.
