Leopold II of Anhalt-Dessau (25 December 1700-16 December 1751) was Prince of Anhalt-Dessau from 1747 to 1751, succeeding Leopold I and preceding Leopold III.
Biography[]
Leopold Maximilian von Anhalt-Dessau was born in Dessau, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany in 1700, the son of Leopold I of Anhalt-Dessau. He joined the Prussian Army at the age of nine and became a lieutenant-colonel at the age of fifteen, serving in the War of the Polish Succession and in the War of the Austrian Succession. Leopold distinguished himself at the Battle of Mollwitz, the Battle of Chotusitz, the Battle of Hohenfriedberg, and the Battle of Soor, and he died in 1751.
