Leonide Moguy (1800-1859) was an American lawyer who worked for the Mississippi plantation owner Calvin J. Candie during the Antebellum era.
Biography[]
Leonide Moguy was born in Louisiana to a Cajun family. He went to boarding school with the father of Calvin J. Candie at the age of eleven, and he befriended Candie's father; as a result, Calvin's grandfather put Moguy through law school, and Moguy became the young Calvin's lawyer when Calvin came of age. In 1859, he, Candie's bodyguard Butch Pooch, and several of Candie's henchmen were killed by Django Freeman after Pooch killed Freeman's friend King Schultz.
