Leonard Wilcox

Leonard Wilcox (29 January 1799 – 18 June 1850) was a US Senator from New Hampshire (D) from 1 March 1842 to 3 March 1843, succeeding Franklin Pierce and preceding Charles G. Atherton.

Biography[]

Leonard Wilcox was born in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1799, the son of Jeduthun Wilcox. He became a lawyer in 1820, and he served in the state legislature and judiciary before serving in the US Senate from 1842 to 1843, finishing Franklin Pierce's term. After leaving office, he returned to the Superior Court, and he died in office in 1850.
