Leocedes, son of Halisthertes

Leocedes, son of Halisthertes (439 BC-) was a Sicilian Greek colonist from Motya (Marsala) who took up spear and shield as a hoplite for Syracuse at the Battle of Ponte in 389 BC, defending Motya from an attack by an army of Sicel and African mercenaries.
