Leo Bolek

Leo Bolek (1874-1922) was a Polish-American mercenary who fought alongside Josh Corey's band of soldiers-of-fortune during the Turkish War of Independence. In 1922, he accompanied Corey's band to Anatolia to fight for the Sultan, and he came to befriend Adam Dyer, in spite of initially interrogating him as to Corey's location after Corey had gone missing at sea. Ultimately, Bolek was killed in a Turkish air raid on a Greek Army camp on the road to Smyrna (Izmir).
