The Lengkok Sungai shootout occurred in 2010 when the CIA agent Rico Rodriguez rescued the gambler Ken Pang from the Panau Triads at the Lengkok Sungai gambling den in Panau.
Rodriguez had been inserted into Panau to track down the CIA agent Tom Sheldon, whom the Agency feared had gone rogue. Sheldon, who founded the White Tiger rebel group in the jungle, used his other alter ego "Sloth Demon" to reach out to Rodriguez and tell him to meet up with his informant at Bandar Lengkok Sungai and track down the gambler Ken Pang. Rodriguez learned from the informant that Pang was deep in debt with a gambling gang and was being held captive at a gambling warehouse further up the river. Rodriguez made his way to the gambling warehouse and stealthily took out the guards before luring out their boss, Ng Wong-sook, who held Pang at gunpoint. Rodriguez killed Ng, rescued Pang, and shot his way past the other triad gangsters before talking to Pang and persuading him to take him to the White Tiger. Along the way, they fought off triad ambushes in the desert and made their way to the Rajang Temple.
