Leicestershire is a county in the Midlands of England. The county, centered on Leicester, borders Nottinghamshire to the north, Lincolnshire to the northeast, Rutland to the east, Northamptonshire to the southeast, Warwickshire to the southwest, Staffordshire to the west, and Derbyshire to the northwest. In 2016, Leicestershire had a population of 1,031,300 people.
