Legio VI Concordialis was a legion of the Roman Army which was raised by Decimus Vergilius Praetextatus in Rome, Latium in 40 BC. The legion was raised on the orders of Octavian shortly after the violent expulsion of Marcus Aemilius Lepidus from the Second Triumvirate, and it was meant to defend Rome in the absence of Octavian and Agrippa's legions from the Italian peninsula. The legion remained on guard duty in Italia until war broke out with Mark Antony, upon which the legion was shipped across the Adriatic to attack Apollonia and invade Antonian-ruled Greece. The legion famously fought off a major Antonian ambush at the Battle of Laurium in Achaea, annihilating the Sparta garrison and inflicting heavy losses on Antony's Legio II Graeca, before capturing Athens.
