The Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) is a communist party in Lebanon that was formed in 1924 by Youssef Ibrahim Yazbek and Fou'ad al-Shmeli. The party was illegal under France during World War II, and in 1958 it led a failed uprising against President Camille Chamoun, leading to the 1958 Lebanon crisis. It had 5,000 fighters, and during the Lebanese Civil War, it was allied with Jammoul, Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, Palestine Liberation Organization, Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Lebanese National Movement, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Progressive Socialist Party, and Syrian Arab Army and fought against the Lebanese Forces, Tigers Militia, Kataeb Party, Israel, South Lebanon Army, and the Syrian Army.
