Lavrentios the Long Haired (died 431 BC) was a Greek mercenary during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography[]
Lavrentios was famed for his long hair, and he was said to be so proud of his hair that he would occasionally ask random people if they would like to feel how soft it was. In 431 BC, he was hired by the Athenian politician Stergios Barbas to assassinate a rival, but he instead headed towards his ship, leading to Stergios putting a hit out on him. He coincidentally crossed paths with Antianeira the Patricidal, who was hired to hunt down and kill the mercenary Kassandra, one of the targets Lavrentios had been hired to kill. Kassandra killed Antianeira in a rooftop battle and wounded Lavrentios, and she then battled Lavrentios on the street and killed him by cutting his throat. She later met with Stergios, who paid her for carrying out the job; Kassandra had done so unknowingly, having killed Lavrentios in self-defense.
