Laurie Jorgensen was an American settler who lived in West Texas during the Wild West era. The daughter of Swedish immigrant Lars Jorgensen and the sister of Brad Jorgensen, she was infatuated with Martin Pawley from the age of three. They rekindled their relationship in 1869, but she was angered when Pawley agreed to help Ethan Edwards recover his kidnapped niece Debbie Edwards, a task which would take years. In the meantime, Laurie learned from one of Pawley's letters that he had married a Comanche woman, Wild Goose Flying in the Night Sky, and she thus agreed to court Charlie McCorry and to marry him in 1873. Pawley returned on the wedding night, and, after McCorry picked a fight, the wedding party turned into a brawl and the marriage was called off. Pawley was thus able to resume his relationship with Jorgensen.
