Lars Masson (1239-1285) was the Norwegian Governor of Kirkwall.
Biography[]
Lars Masson was the Governor of Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands, ruling for the Kingdom of the Isles of Norway. Masson was a poor military commander, with low chivalry, but was great at management, making him a good Governor of Kirkwall. In 1285, the Scots invaded the Orkney Islands and liberated them, and Masson was killed in the Siege of Kirkwall.
