Larry Craig (born 20 July 1945) was the US Senator from Idaho (R) from 3 January 1991 to 3 January 2009, succeeding Jim McClure and preceding Jim Risch. He chose to not run for re-election in 2007 after it was revealed that he had been arrested for lewd conduct in a men's restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport earlier that year.

Larry Craig was born in Council, Idaho on 20 July 1945, and he served in the US Army from 1970 to 1972 after graduating from the University of Idaho. Craig was elected to the Idaho Senate in 1974 as a member of the Republican Party, and he served in the US House of Representatives from Idaho's 1st district from 3 January 1981 to 3 January 1991, succeeding Steve Symms and preceding Larry LaRocco. Craig became a member of the board of the National Rifle Association in 1983 while serving in the US Congress. In 1991, he was elected to the US Senate, and he headed the Senate Aging Committee from 2003 to 2005 and the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, he was pressured to resign after he was accused of having homosexual sex in a public bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, but he later decided to serve the rest of his term, electing to not run for re-election.
