Larry Chester Coady (1858-1899) was a US Army private who was stationed at Fort Wallace, South Dakota during the Wapiti War. In 1899, he and William J. Meeker were ambushed and gunned down by the outlaw Arthur Morgan while driving a wagon carrying vaccines through the Black Hills, after which Morgan retrieved the vaccines for the Wapiti tribe.
