Lapiths

The Lapiths were an Aeolian tribe who inhabited the Peneus valley in Thessaly during the Late Bronze Age. The Lapiths were descended from Lapithes, the brother of the deformed Centaurus, who mated with mares to father the Centaurs. By the time of the Trojan War, the Lapiths inhabited Aeane in Macedonia and Oloosson in Perrhaebia, and Polypoetes and Leonteus led 40 manned ships to support the Mycenaeans in their invasion of the Troad.
