Lao Tze

Lao Tze (died 1878) was a Chinese-American triad boss and the head of the Suey Sing Tong in San Francisco, California during the 1870s. In 1878, he became involved with opium smuggling on Long Zii Tong turf, leading Long Zii boss Mai Ling to send Li Yong, Zing Yuen, and the Fung Hai Tong to intimidate Lao Tze into ceasing his drug trade. While Lao reluctantly agreed to cease his activities, Zing surprised Lao and his henchmen by cutting Lao's throat, inaugurating a massacre of the Suey Sing.
