Hardy and Billy Nungesser
Laine Hardy (12 September 2000-) was an American country music singer from French Settlement, Livingston Parish, Louisiana. Born in Baton Rouge, he was raised on the bayou and auditioned on American Idol before winning Season 17 in 2019. Hardy - who grew up in an overwhelmingly Republiacn parish - was backed by the Republican Party of Louisiana, taking a photograph with Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser (who asked for Donald Trump to tweet his support for Hardy during the competition); on 5 June 2019, the Louisiana Senate passed Republican State Senators Eddie Lambert and Dale Erdey's Resolution 246, which commended Hardy on winning Season 17.
