Lacy Clay

Lacy Clay (27 July 1956-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-MO 1) from 3 January 2001 to 3 January 2021, succeeding Bill Clay and preceding Cori Bush.

Biography[]

Lacy Clay was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1956, the son of Congressman Bill Clay. He worked as a paralegal before serving in the State House of Representatives from 1983 to 1991, in the State Senate from 1991 to 2001, and in the US House of Representatives from 2001. He was a member of the Progressive Democrats. On 5 August 2020, he lost the Democratic primary to pastor and activist Cori Bush.
