Labyrinth of Lost Souls

The Labyrinth of Lost Souls was, in Greek mythology, an elaborate maze designed and built by the legendary architect Daedalus for King Minos of Knossos at the Palace of Knossos. The labyrinth was built to hold the monstrous Minotaur, who was fed with captive Athenian youths as per a peace treaty between Minos and King Aegeus of Athens. In 1293 BC, Aegeus' son Theseus travelled to Crete to slay the legendary monster, and he seduced King Minos' daughter Ariadne soon after his arrival. Ariadne gave him a string which he used to mark his path through the maze, and, after slaying the Minotaur, he navigated his way out using the same string. The Labyrinth later became shrouded in mystery, as both Knossos and Pephka claimed to be home to the genuine Labyrinth, but it was opened by the mercenary Kassandra in 429 BC with the help of the orphan boy Ardos.
