Labashi was the Achaemenid Satrap of Cappadocia during the 4th century BC. Labashi emerged as one of Darius III's primary generals during his war with Alexander the Great, commanding the main resistance efforts against the Macedonian advance into Anatolia. He was defeated by Alexander at the Battle of Helicore (near Iznik, summer of 334 BC) and the Battle of Nallihan (autumn of 334 BC), forcing him to retreat towards the central Anatolian city of Gordion, where Darius III amassed his armies and the remnants of Cappadocia's forces. Labashi narrowly survived death each time, escaping the disaster at Nallihan with only a handful of bodyguards.
