La Unión Tepito is a Mexican drug cartel based in Mexico City, founded in 2007. In 2009, Beltran Leyva Cartel lieutenant Edgar Valdez Villarreal formed an alliance with the leaders of Tepito, but La Unión Tepito's leadership engaged in infighting starting in 2013, leading to the assassinations of several gang leaders. By 2020, La Unión Tepito controlled the city center of Mexico City.
