La Roca de la Sierra is a municipality in the Province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. Its name means "the Rock of the Desert" in Spanish, but it draws its name not from a geographic feature, but from the Count of La Roca, who was granted the former Villa de Manzanete by King Philip III of Spain. The town arose in the 13th century amid the Reconquista, and it was home to the Monastery of San Isidro de Loriana. By 2018, La Roca de la Sierra had a population of 1,473 people, and the Mayor belonged to the Izquierda Unida (IU) coalition.
