The Kuban Cossacks are cossacks who live in the Kuban region of southern Russia in what is now Krasnodar Krai. One of the main groups of cossacks like the Don Cossacks on the Don Steppe, the Kubanians have fought both for and against Russia, fighting against the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War and fighting for both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union during World War II.
