The Kovac clan, also known as the "Betting mafia", was a Croatian criminal organization which was active in Berlin during the 21st century. Led by Tomo Kovac, the gang consisted of Yugoslav immigrants who ran betting shops and loan shark operations across Berlin. The Kovac clan was at war with the Tarik-Amir clan until 2013 and again from 2018, and, while Kovac and his chief lieutenants were being questioned by the Berlin Police during Operation Red Card in 2018, Kareem Tarik-Amir bought up most of their betting shops, taking over Tomo's operations and forcing him to flee from Berlin.
