Kopanes

Kopanes was a Norse settlement in Vinland (southern Newfoundland) which was founded in circa 870 AD by Viking explorers from Hafr. The Viking warriors Skomlr Granitepuncher, Brand Smokebuilder, Orlyg Torchgorer, and Valgaror Elkboot founded a new settlement consisting of a town center, a barracks, a hillfort, and a temple to Odin, and they immediately came into conflict with a rival group of Vikings from Asolfsskali. The ensuing Battle of Asolfsskali resulted in the deaths of all of the warriors of Kopanes and the village's ultimate destruction, putting an end to the Norse settlement and leading to Hafr and Kopanes vanishing from history.
