The Kono clan was a samurai clan from Shikoku in Japan, originating during the Heian Empire era of Japanese history and surviving up until the Sengoku Period of the 16th century.

The Kono were aligned with the Minamoto during the Genpei War, as they were descended from the same family. They inhabited the northwestern part of the island, and co-existed with many other clans, and although they were threatened by the Yashima Taira, the Kono clan survived and were allied with the Kamakura Minamoto during the Genpei War. Because of their loyalty they survived into the following centuries.
In the 1500s they fought wars against the Chosokabe, and in 1575 they sent a monk to try and incite a rebellion. The Chosokabe crushed this uprising and took over their lands after capturing their castle.
