Kong Hongya

Kong Hongya (died 1878) was a Chinese-American triad gangster who was affiliated with the Fung Hai Tong in San Francisco during the 1870s. In 1878, he attempted to prevent corrupt SFPD policeman Bill O'Hara from confronting his boss Zing Yuen at his gambling den, and, while O'Hara held Kong at gunpoint as Zing arrived, Zing stole O'Hara's gun and shot Kong dead before telling O'Hara that he did not need to collect his monetary debt, but could have him serve as muscle to pay off his gambling debts.
