The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi is a yakuza organization based in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi was founded by Kunio Inoue when the Yamaken-gumi, Takumi-gumi, and Kyoyu-kai separated from the main Yamaguchi-gumi in th first major split since the Yama-Ichi War of the 1980s. The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi had 2,800 members on its founding; this constituted about half of the 6,000 members of the Yamaguchi-gumi. H owever, the Yamaken-gumi rejoined the Yamaguchi-gumi, while the Kizuna-kai, Takumi-gumi, and Ikeda-gumi split and the Masaki-gumi and Kyoyu-kai disbanded. By 2023, the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi had only 140 members and 260 quasi-members.
