The Koani gasoline convoy ambush occurred in 2019 when American special forces ambushed a Santa Blanca Cartel gasoline convoy in rural Koani department, Bolivia.
Following the liberation of Remanzo, only Koani, Montuyoc, and Mojocoyo remained in the cartel's hands. Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team entered Koani and received a briefing on the cartel's drug smuggler Boston Reed from CIA agent Karen Bowman, after which they raided the Koani train cemetery and learned of Reed's secret human trafficking ring and its associated villages from Vitor Jardón. While on their way to collect more intel, Perryman and his squad came across a gasoline convoy being moved by the cartel. The Americans ambushed the convoy, took out its escorts, and captured and tagged the gas tanker, ensuring that Kataris 26 rebels could pick it up at a later time.
