Ko no Moroyasu

Ko no Moroyasu (born 1313) was Commissioner for Supply under the Ashikaga Shogunate during the Nanboku-cho period.

Biography[]

Ko no Moroyasu was the older brother of Ko no Moronao, and the two brothers were portrayed as avid villains in the epic, the Taiheiki. In 1335, Nitta Yoshisada bested his army in a campaign near Kamakura despite Ko having reinforcements from Ashikaga Tadayoshi, but Shogun Ashikaga Takauji later arrived with reinforcements and assisted in the destruction of Yoshisada's imperial army. Moroyasu was appointed Commissioner for Supply of the Ashikaga Shogunate under Takauji by 1351, when he embarked on a campaign in northern central Honshu with Moronao and Takauji.
